Venezuela international becomes club's fourth summer signing

Castellanos: I want to help accomplish something bigger in the Champions League

Manchester City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Venezuelan international Deyna Castellanos. The 23-year-old forward joins the Club from Atletico Madrid on a three-year deal.

Castellanos is one of the most exciting young talents in women's football. She has scored over 100 goals for her country and was named the FIFA Women's Player of the Year in 2017.

Castellanos made her City debut in a 6-0 UEFA Women's Champions League victory over WFC Tomiris-Turan in August. She scored the opening goal of the game and was a constant threat to the opposition throughout.

Just days later, Castellanos scored four times in an 8-0 win over Bolivia. Her performances have seen her named as captain of the Venezuelan national team.

"I am very happy to be here," Castellanos said. "Manchester City is a great club with a lot of ambition. I want to help the team win trophies and I believe that we can achieve something special in the Champions League."

Castellanos is the fourth summer signing for Manchester City Women. She joins fellow new arrivals Khadija Shaw, Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy.
