Liverpool rejects offer for VfB flirt
Liverpool reportedly turns down a bid for Stuttgart's Borna Sosa
Stuttgart is looking for a replacement after the departure of Waldemar Anton and Hiroki Ito.
According to a report by the German sports magazine "Sport Bild", Liverpool FC has rejected an offer for VfB Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa. The Reds are said to have offered around €25 million for the Croatian international, but Stuttgart is reportedly demanding a fee of at least €30 million.
Sosa has been linked with a move to Liverpool for several months, and the 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League. However, Liverpool is not the only club interested in Sosa, with Bayern Munich and Chelsea also said to be monitoring his situation.
Stuttgart is in a difficult position as they are keen to keep Sosa but also need to raise funds to replace Anton and Ito. The club is reportedly looking at potential replacements, with FC Augsburg's Robert Gumny and Borussia Mönchengladbach's Oscar Wendt among the names mentioned.
Liverpool, meanwhile, is looking to strengthen their defense after a disappointing season in which they finished eighth in the Premier League. The Reds have already signed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig and are also linked with a move for Southampton's Tino Livramento.
