Fiorentina qualified for the final by defeating Turkish club Istanbul Başakşehir 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals. West Ham United qualified for the final by defeating German club Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
The UEFA Europa Conference League is a new competition that was created for the 2021-22 season. The competition is designed to give clubs from smaller European countries a chance to compete for European silverware.
